The Interactive Max Performance is a composition between traditional guitar and an innovative program, Max for Live. Max for Live is a platform where you can build custom instruments and effects. I programmed my own patch going through stereo delay, frequency shifter, and overdrive. It functions similarly to tweaking guitar pedals on stage. After designing the patch's user interface, I performed it by tweaking the parameters on the computer while the guitar track looped on.
I began by recording an 8-bar guitar track, which I then imported into Max for Live. During the performance, I used the presets with parameters modified prior to the presentation. I was able to introduce different functionalities of the patch. The video processors were also linked to the parameters of the audio effect. It helps the audience to focus visually on subtle changes.
