According to the International Baccalaureate, the extended essay is an independent, self-directed research. I chose to investigate the category of music. Throughout the exploration, I explored history, theory, techniques, and many more aspects. Throughout this research, I compared two pieces of music from renowned guitarists and suggested how the genres of music have been shaped into contemporary music today.
